About Me
As a poverty-stricken child from Appalachia, I found my escape through writing, sneaking away to the library, obsessing over music, and watching television. I was awarded numerous reading and writing awards in grade school. In my fourth-grade class, I had the highest SOL test score among my peers. That same year, I won a writing contest and presented an essay in front of my school warning against illicit drug use. My family showed up to support me, and my dad, who had never learned to read, cried with pride.
A dreamer by nature with an unquenchable need for knowledge, my love for storytelling drove me to pursue higher education. I enrolled in L.A. Film School in 2022 while working full-time as a travel merchandiser. I graduated in 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Screenwriting. I have completed a pilot script for an hour-long historical drama, and two feature film scripts. Currently, I am working on a feature film script and a pilot script, a book series, and submitting to writing fellowships. I plan to earn my MFA in 2026. I am in a unique position to write about a myriad of subjects that include women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and the effects of poverty. My favorite show is The Golden Girls (1985-1992). Like one of my heroes, Sophia Petrillo, I am tough with a heart of gold. So, sit back and “Picture it…”.
